I have been a big fan of Rayssa Leal for years. The style, her energy, trick selection, the (Olympic) results…but especially her personality. She is so down to earth, playful, fun having, while being super professional at the same time, and having no problem handling rough street spots.
She has not only been responsible for inspiring millions of girls around the world, or the rapid growth of the level of female skating, but her imprint on skateboarding as a whole is undeniable. Currently THE most followed skate athlete on social by far.
I was fortunate enough to make this move happen, and spend a few super fun days in NYC to produce the intro video.
In 2021, Virgil Abloh was the first person to hire the KVL Connect agency. We worked on building a skateable Off-White shoe and a brand marketing plan to support it. Later that year, just a few days after all was approved and signed off by him, he passed away.
This week, Off-White eventually launched the Vulc779. KVL Connect lead the global brand campaign.
The cast consist of a diverse group of skaters with a true connection to the OW brand and/or Virgil himself:
Gabriel Fortunato, Jessyka Bailey, Davey Sayles, Adrianna Sloboh, Yuri Facchini and Marie de Courcy.
KVL connect also supported pre-launches ensuring authenticity at Selfridges in London, at Skate Café in Amsterdam, End-Clothing in Milan, and ultimately the global launch at EM PTY Gallery in NYC.
Virgil would have been incredibly stoked seeing what we did.
I helped ASICS negotiate the Liz Akama deal a few months ago. The coolest, calm, girl on the skate course, with a unique bag of tricks. Absolutely amazing to see her win Silver at the Olympics Women's Street. That is pretty phenomenal at 15 years of age. More to come...!!!

Most recent KVL initiated and lead SKF Group project A rad background piece by Jenkem Magazine on the SKF company, it's history, it's skateboard bearings, and Gothenburg as a skate city. SKF is such a fascinating brand. We are very proud to be working with them!
With ASICS its Skateboard division slowly entering the European market, starting with France, we made a new video edit, shot in Paris and Marseille. Featuring 3 amazing French skaters (Victor, Jeanne and Marca Barbier), Dougie George from London, accompanied by Akwasi (LA) and our lovely friends from the NYC based Late Nite Stars crew. Provided initial footwear feedback early 2022, managed product seeding, established the skate team, set the brand’s MVP, provided a creative direction, hired staff, set up and ran social channel, created a 2023 brand plan, led the launch campaign.
The first annual ABLOH skateboarding invitational in Miami that KVL helped bring to life. We brought together an incredible group of pro skaters and legends, skating with the kids, signing autographs, skating a demo on a special built obstacle, all in honor of Virgil Abloh his legacy in skateboarding. It was something very special. This is exactly what Virgil always wanted to do!!
Lead communication between Off-White and collaborator Sal Barbier and produced the campaign shoot in Los Angeles
Helped realize this private indoor skatepark collab between StockX and April Skateboards - A training facility for the biggest names in skateboarding including various Olympians, but also a community space.
